Professor Christoph is on a year-long Fulbright Scholarship teaching at the State University of Zanzibar and doing research into non-formal adult literacy programs.

Adrienne, a “student of all things French,” will travel to Lyon, France, where she will be a teaching assistant and take up activities such as community volunteer work and dancing or yoga. “On the whole, I view this as a marvelous opportunity to continue expanding and
reshaping that lifelong work in progress, my personal identity,” she says.
Kelsey Quam ‘09

cholar, Peru
During 2009-10, Kelsey will research textile production in the rural villages of the Cuzco region of Peru. She will study changes in these communities as their textiles are increasingly sold to exporters and tourists, as well as assess a new “revitalization” effort aimed at educating weavers and preserving traditional patterns and production methods.

Maddy Ryen ‘09
Fulbright Teaching Assistant, Germany
Maddy will be working as a English teaching assistant at Immanuel Kant Gymnasium in Hamburg. She is looking forward to learning more about the history and culture of the city and is particularly interested in how German high school students understand and evaluate American culture.
